There are 27 species of Amazon parrot, Prices vary from $400 to $1600 with the higher prices generally being associated with those known to be better talkers. Amazon parrots are very good at talking and imitating sounds. In fact some owners feel their ability compares with that of the African Grey --- but unlike African Greys --- Amazons don't generate any noticable amounts of pet dander or "dust". They have been shown to be very intelligent and they form a very close bond with their owner over time.
